Rotorstock Report 2011
Pro Class
With three cars entered the event looked set to be another classic three way battle between John Bradshaw in his Nissan 350Z, Leon Green’s Toyota Supra and Chris Impey’s Mazda RX-7 which should have felt right at home at Rotorstock. Unfortunately Leon Green was unable to make the event leaving just Bradshaw and Impey to battle it out for the event win. It was John Bradshaw who led the way with a fantastic 6.84/203.32mph qualifying pass that comfortably took top spot while Chris Impey could only achieve a 10.3703/129.56mph pass for second place.

Street Class Final The final came down to a dual between the numbers one and two qualifiers as Rob Blackshaw and Johnny McKeon squared off and it really was anyone’s race as these two had previously both run down into the 9 second zone. Despite Rob Blackshaw pulling a fantastic 0.052 reaction time compared to Johnny’s 0.220 it was not to be as Blackshaw was unable to replicate his previous performance only managing an 11.64/125.10mph effort which was topped by McKeon’s 10.78/139.49mph shot to take home the event win.

FWD Class
Qualifying
With a strong field of nine cars entered it looked as if this would be another closely fought round of the JDS FWD championship this however did not quite materialise as only five contenders put in a qualifying pass. Adam Buckley led the way with a solid 10.01/145.30mph effort closely followed by Guy Chamberlain with a 10.4828/147.70mph which was enough to claim second. Also notable was Guy Chamberlain’s performance, who during qualifying ran a superb 9.76/151mph qualifying pass, the fastest time by a FWD car in the UK but unfortunately this pass was later disqualified due to a technicality.

FWD Class Final
The final of JDS FWD saw number one qualifier Adam Buckley line up against number five qualifier Karl Hart and on paper this race should have been in the bag for Buckley. Races as we all know are not run on paper as Buckley who had been a consistent low ten second runner all day failed to produce in the final, only managing a 23.515/30.94mph effort and was comfortably beaten by Hart with a slightly off pace 15.275/83.03mph pass proving that it’s not always the fastest car that takes home the win.
